Vice President, Patient Care Services and Chief Nursing Officer, Newport Hospital

Orla M. Brandos, DNP, MBA, MSN, CPHQ, NEA-BC is vice president of patient care services and chief nursing officer at Newport Hospital. She is also an American Nurses Credentialing Center appraiser for the national Magnet program for nursing excellence. Newport Hospital is currently one of only a handful of hospitals worldwide to achieve four consecutive Magnet designations. Dr. Brandos was also responsible for the renovation, redesign and operational planning to successfully transform the Newport Hospital Emergency Department.

Prior to joining Brown University Health, Dr. Brandos was the associate chief nurse for maternal child health, ambulatory nursing services, at Newton-Wellesley Hospital and Partners Healthcare, in Newton, Massachusetts. She also served as the vice president of patient care services and chief nursing officer for Morton Hospital, Steward Health Care System, in Taunton, Massachusetts. Dr. Brandos is a registered nurse in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Florida.
