Cassidy Cooper, DO

Psychiatrist

Cassidy Cooper DO, is a board-certified psychiatrist who treats patients at the Adult Partial Hospital Program at Rhode Island Hospital. 

Dr. Cooper received her medical degree from the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her psychiatry residency training at the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School, where she served in her final year as the program’s chief resident and the chief resident in psychotherapy. She also completed a one-year fellowship at the Boston Psychoanalytic Institute in psychodynamic psychotherapy. 

Dr. Cooper has worked in a wide range of clinical settings, including inpatient, outpatient, consultation-liaison and emergency/crisis intervention psychiatry, in addition to her work in partial hospital programs. She also has professional interests in clinical leadership. She serves on the quality committee for the psychiatry department at Brown University Health. She was previously the medical director of crisis intervention services in MedStar Montgomery’s emergency department in Maryland. She is passionate about medical education with a focus on teaching medical students and residents about the value of psychotherapy in clinical practice.
