Brown University Health Risk Services (LRS) is an independent third party administrator created to provide the administrative services for Brown University Health’s self-funded professional and general liability indemnity program, R.I. Sound Enterprises Insurance CO., LTD (RISE). This includes financial and underwriting management, claims management, and loss prevention strategies and education.

The Brown University Health Risk Services (LRS) Claims staff provide a number of services as we advise, support and guide indemnified parties through the process of a claim or lawsuit.
In addition to claims-related matters, we also assist with requests from the Rhode Island Board of Medical Licensure and Discipline, the Rhode Island Nurse Registration and Nursing Education Board, other professional healthcare-related boards, and third party pay - or related - concerns about patient care.

Brown University Health’s malpractice program, also referred to as the “Brown University Health Malpractice Plan" (LMP), provides healthcare professional liability (medical malpractice) coverage to Brown University Health, its entities and employees, along with independent affiliated physicians and their practices.
The LRS Loss Prevention Program is a collection of services that take a proactive approach to mitigating risk. Our focus is on the safety of the patient, and we will work with you to create a culture of risk awareness to reduce the likelihood of claims and lawsuits. Office Practice Risk Consulting and Site Survey

A collection of risk-focused activities intended to create a financial incentive for indemnified providers who choose to participate.
APOLLO Program
Confidential and compassionate peer support provided by Brown University Health physicians to Lifespan-affiliated physicians involved in an adverse event, claim, or lawsuit.
