SoCRA Rhode Island Chapter Meeting

The Society of Clinical Research Associates (SoCRA), a nonprofit and educational membership organization committed to providing education, certification, and networking opportunities to all persons involved in clinical research activities will hold its Rhode Island Chapter meeting on Thursday, April 23, 2026 from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. via a virtual presentation.

Topic

The title of this presentation will be "Conflict of Interest, from a conduct of research perspective." 

Overview

This presentation will review the types of conflict of interest (COI) in clinical research and how such conflicts are typically managed. We will discuss who is required to provide a research COI disclosure and what needs to be reported. We will also review Research COI Committee review procedures and outcomes.

Objectives

At the completion of this event, attendees will be able to:

• Define COI in research
• Understand how external relationships should be reported
• Understand how research COIs are reviewed and managed
• Understand implications for enrolling human subjects when a COI is found

Speaker

This presentation will be led by Jacqueline Poore, manager of the research compliance program at Brown University Health.

This event is open to SoCRA and non-SoCRA members.

Credit: SoCRA Members may claim 1 CE per hour of education. 
Only SoCRA members will receive a certificate of attendance.
