Diabetes Prevention Program - Portuguese

Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at 5:30 to 6:30p.m.

This free, in-person Diabetes Prevention Program will be offered in Portuguese by Brown University Health Community Health Institute every Tuesday (with the exception of June 2) from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. from May 19, 2026 through May 4, 2027. Enrollment will end on June 16. By attending each class, you will receive free program materials.

The Diabetes Prevention Program is an evidence-based program that teaches people at risk for developing diabetes how to implement a healthy lifestyle with the goal of preventing or delaying the onset of type 2 diabetes:

  • Get on track with help from your lifestyle coach
  • Stay on track with group support
  • Find time for physical activity
  • Lose 5% to 7% of your body weight
  • Eat healthier by adding fruits and vegetables

This program is free, but registration is required. Registrants must be 18 years of age to participate. Enrollment will end on June 16, 2026.
