Safe Sitter

Join the Brown University Health Community Health Institute for a Safe Sitter training session from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Friday, February 20, 2026.

This Safe Sitter curriculum is designed exclusively for youth in grades six through eight, ages 11 to 14 years.

The course covers the following skills: 

  • Safety
  • Child care
  • CPR
  • First aid
  • Choking rescue
  • Life and business

The Community Health Institute is nationally recognized as a Gold-level provider. Safe Sitter courses are instructor-led and interactive, with hands-on demonstrations and skills practice using soft-bodied dolls and medical manikins. 

Registration

This is a free course for Middletown residents. All others will be charged a $50 registration fee.

Scholarships and an employee discount are available.
