Brown University Health Urgent Care Prompt-Pay Information

Brown University Health Urgent Care offers a tiered-level rate approach, which is based on medical necessity, to cover self-pay services. The appropriate tier price is subject to the clinical assessment and the medical and professional decision-making of the provider who is providing these services. Below is a quote of the service(s) to be provided, which are subject to change at any time due to the complexity of your condition.

Prices effective October 1, 2025.

Tier 1: Clinic Visit Only - Rate $175

Tier one includes clinic visit only
 

Tier 2: Clinic visit with PCR or Imaging - Rate: $225

Common testing and treatments in this tier include, but are not limited to:

  • EKG
  • Nebulizer Treatment
  • PCR
    • Combo COVID, Flu, RSV
    • COVID
    • Flu
    • Strep
    • Vaginitis PCR
  • X-rays
     
Tier 3: Clinic visit with Minor Procedures - Rate: $275

Common testing and treatments in this tier include, but are not limited to:

  • Abscess drainage
  • Foreign body removal
  • Ingrown toenail
  • Medication injection
  • Wound closure (stitches or glue)
     

Additional Information about Discounted Pricing

Please note the following:

  • Discounted tiered pricing cannot be used in conjunction with insurance, and only applies if the full payment is collected at the time of service.  
  • Durable medical equipment is not included in the tiered pricing and will be billed separately.
  • Discounted tiered pricing does not include vaccinations and/or immunizations.
  • Certain laboratory services are not included in the tiered pricing and will be billed separately.

Financial Assistance 

Brown University Health treats all people who need care, regardless of their ability to pay.

The patient financial services department offers financial assistance to patients who meet specific income guidelines. Please note that copies of your tax returns, W-2 forms and other documents are required to apply for financial assistance.

If you are not insured, or insured for only part of your expenses, please speak with one of our financial counselors.
