Brown University Health is pleased to announce that Angie Wright, RN, MSN-L, has officially joined the organization today as Chief Nursing Executive (CNE), a newly created role that underscores our commitment to nursing excellence. Angie will serve as a strategic leader for nursing services across the system and as the Chief Nursing Officer for Rhode Island Hospital and Hasbro Children’s.
Angie’s appointment comes at a pivotal time as Brown University Health strives to enhance nursing practices, improve orientation and training programs, and utilize system-wide resources to elevate standards of patient care. The CNE will play a crucial role in collaborating with senior leaders and nursing staff to implement best practices, drive system-wide initiatives, and maintain compliance with healthcare regulations.
“We see this position as a champion for the voice of nursing, developing talent and ensuring successful recruitment, retention, and succession within our nursing leadership,” said Sarah Frost, chief of hospital operations and president of Rhode Island Hospital and Hasbro Children’s. “I know this new position will be a wonderful resource for nursing across the system. I’m excited to have Angie’s focus, expertise, and leadership skills onboard.”
Angie comes from Banner University Medicine in Tucson, Arizona, where she served as Chief Nursing Officer for the past four years at a Magnet-designated medical center. Her experience encompasses oversight of two academic medical centers, a cancer center, and over 30 ambulatory sites. Recognized by Becker’s as a Hospital and Health System CNO to Know for 2023, Angie brings a wealth of experience in uniting and leading multi-site health systems to her new role.
“As I embark on this journey with Brown University Health, I look forward to working closely with our dedicated nursing team to advance our mission of delivering exceptional patient care,” said Angie Wright.
