Providence, R.I. – Rhode Island Hospital and Hasbro Children’s recognized four 2025 Volunteers of the Year at a ceremony held today. The annual spring event celebrates the dedication and impact of volunteers who have made exceptional contributions over the past year.
2025 Rhode Island Hospital Volunteer of the Year – Kerry Gregory (Warwick)
Kerry Gregory was selected in recognition of nearly a decade of service—reaching 10 years this July—and more than 2,400 volunteer hours. She works most extensively in the adult Emergency Department, where she supports patients and families by assisting with wayfinding, providing wait-time updates, and offering comfort items.
“Kerry’s enthusiasm is truly commendable,” said Adrianne Walsh, Manager of Volunteer Services for Rhode Island Hospital. “She brings a positive spirit and a strong willingness to support our emergency department staff while enhancing the experience of our patients and their loved ones.”
2025 Rhode Island Hospital College Volunteer of the Year – Maya Madhaven (Bronxville, NY)
A senior at Brown University majoring in Immunobiology, Maya Madhaven has contributed more than 500 volunteer hours since October 2023. She plans to apply to Physician Assistant programs after graduation.
Maya primarily volunteers in Breast Imaging, where she supports patients undergoing mammograms and ultrasounds by providing updates, escorting them, and explaining procedures. She also assists with maintaining a clean and organized environment.
“Maya has a remarkable ability to light up a room,” Walsh said. “Her positivity is genuine and uplifting, and even with a demanding academic schedule, she remains deeply committed to supporting our patients each week.”
2025 Hasbro Children’s Volunteer of the Year – Sally MacIsaac (Easton, MA)
Sally MacIsaac has dedicated nearly two years of service to Hasbro Children’s, contributing 548 hours. She volunteers in both the Pediatric Partial Hospitalization Program and the Hasbro 4 playroom, where she brings compassion, energy, and consistency.
In the Partial Hospitalization Program, Sally supports clinical teams by supervising and co-leading activities, helping foster a therapeutic environment. On Hasbro 4, she engages patients through play, offering comfort and connection both in the playroom and at the bedside. She is recognized for her reliability, flexibility, and uplifting presence.
“At the end of my life, I want to know that I gave back—and that I won the lottery,” Sally shared.
2025 Hasbro Children’s College Volunteer of the Year – Anna Cartier (Cumberland)
Anna Cartier, a senior at Providence College majoring in Biology and History, has contributed 309 volunteer hours over the past two years. She has been accepted into Brown University’s Warren Alpert Medical School through its Early Identification Program and will begin her studies in 2027.
Anna has primarily volunteered in the Emergency Department, where she supports pediatric patients and families through distraction activities and helps maintain a clean, child-friendly environment. She is recognized for her adaptability, independence, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting.
“Hasbro has taught me what it means to be an active member of my community,” Anna said. “My passion for healthcare and helping others has grown immensely, and I look forward to continuing to support patients—next time as a medical student.”
