Saint Anne’s Hospital has been awarded an ‘A’ Hospital Safety Grade by The Leapfrog Group for the 27th consecutive grading cycle, maintaining this distinction since the program’s inception in 2012. This elite national recognition reflects the hospital’s longstanding dedication to patient safety and its sustained efforts to prevent medical errors and avoidable harm.
In addition to Saint Anne’s, three other hospitals within the Brown University Health system have received an ‘A’ Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, a nonprofit organization that sets and promotes rigorous standards for patient safety in hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers. The honored hospitals include Rhode Island Hospital and The Miriam Hospital in Providence, RI; and Newport Hospital in Newport, RI.
“Maintaining an ‘A’ for patient safety for 27 cycles over 13 years is a direct testament to our employees’ and providers’ collective commitment to our culture of safety,” said Carole Billington, MSN, RN, NEA-BC, president and chief nursing officer at Saint Anne’s Hospital. “This means that everyone, every day, practices behaviors, individually and collaboratively, that result in safe, reliable care.
