Ariana Petrella is a certified nurse midwife with Brown Health Medical Group Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Petrella earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing with a minor in thanatology from the University of Rhode Island and a master’s degree in midwifery from Frontier Nursing University in Versailles, Kentucky.
She started her nursing career as a medical-surgical registered nurse at The Miriam Hospital for six years before pursuing a career in women’s health. She transitioned to her role as a nurse in the Women’s Care Center at Kent Hospital, where she provided patients and families with antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum care.
Petrella has always been passionate about women’s care with a special draw to pregnancy and postpartum. Her decision to attend midwifery school was solidified after the holistic, compassionate care that she received from midwives during her own pregnancy.
Her areas of interest include maternal mental health, supporting physiologic birth, and perimenopause/menopause support.
