Kristina Fitzgerald, DPT, LATC, PRPC, CPPC, is a doctor of physical therapy in the department of pelvic rehabilitation. She graduated from Northeastern University with a bachelor’s degree in athletic training and earned a master of science degree in physical therapy at the University of Rhode Island. Dr. Fitzgerald completed her doctorate of physical therapy at the MGH Institute of Health Professions. She is certified as a prenatal and postpartum physical therapy practitioner. She is a certified pelvic rehabilitation practitioner, skilled in the diagnosis and treatment of pelvic dysfunctions for all patients throughout the life cycle.
In addition to her clinical experience, Dr. Fitzgerald has certifications as a prenatal and post-partum corrective exercise specialist and prenatal and post-partum coach, and has training in the Emyo Biofeedback System and Rehabilitative Ultrasound. Dr. Fitzgerald has 23 years of experience as a physical therapist, with over 17 years in pelvic health. She was a contributing faculty at URI’s Physical Therapy program, where she taught pregnancy and post-partum care.
Dr. Fitzgerald's research interests include pregnancy and postpartum strengthening and abdominal diastasis corrective exercises, gender-affirming care (before and after gender-affirming surgery), and pelvic floor dysfunction, including constipation, stress/urge incontinence, pelvic pain, sexual dysfunction, and fecal incontinence.
