Clinical Pharmacy Coordinator, Primary Care and Weight Management

Megan Scalia, PharmD, CDOE, serves as an ambulatory care clinical pharmacist, providing direct patient care for diabetes, hypertension, and polypharmacy management under a collaborative practice agreement, including ordering and reviewing laboratory results as needed. Scalia also serves as a drug information pharmacist one day per week, assisting with clinical questions, device education, and patient care support. As coordinator, she oversees her pharmacy team by monitoring goals, optimizing workflows, developing new weight management clinics, and managing team scheduling and paid time off. She precepts PGY-2 ambulatory care residents, specialty PGY-1 residents, and Rhode Island Hospital PGY-1 residents in one-month blocks, in addition to precepting advanced pharmacy practice experience students and delivering lectures to Johnson and Wales physician assistant students.
