Boris Martinez Recinos, MD, is an oncologist at the Brown University Health Cancer Institute

Dr. Martinez Recinos has collaborated on research published in peer-reviewed, academic journals and spoken at medical conferences.

He received a medical degree from the Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala, where he graduated cum laude. Dr. Martinez Recinos completed two postdoctoral fellowships – the first in the continuum of perinatal care and a second in early nutrition and neurodevelopment at the Maya Health Alliance in Guatemala. In addition, he finished an internal medicine residency at Saint Peter’s University Hospital/ Rutgers University and a clinical fellowship in hospice and palliative medicine at Harvard Medical School/ Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Martinez Recinos also completed a clinical fellowship in hematology and oncology at the Brown University Health Cancer Institute and a research fellowship in social medicine at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. 

Dr. Martinez Recinos is a member of the American College of Physicians, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Society of Hematology, the Network of Minority Health Research Investigators, and the American Association of Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
