Carmen Monzon, MD, is a psychiatrist in Women’s Behavioral Medicine at the Women’s Medicine Collaborative in Providence. She is a clinical associate professor of psychiatry and human behavior and clinical associate professor of medicine at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.

Dr. Monzon received her medical degree from National University Pedro Henriquez Ureña in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, and completed a residency at Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven, Connecticut. She served as chief resident of the General Adult Psychiatry Residency Training Program.

Dr. Monzon is board-certified in psychiatry and consultation-liaison psychiatry. She has been a three-time recipient of the Dean’s Excellence in Teaching Award at Alpert Medical School.

She has been part of the bioethics committee at Women and Infants Hospital since 2005, and a board member of the Office of Women in Medicine and Science (OWIMS) Advisory Board, Division of Biology and Medicine and the School of Public Health at Brown University. She has been very active in mentoring women and URM at the Medical School.

Her clinical interests include perinatal psychiatry, oncology, and consultation-liaison psychiatry. She is fluent in English and Spanish.
