“Find a Doctor” is operated by Brown University Health and includes all physicians who are on the medical staffs of Brown University Health-affiliated hospitals, without any charge to them. Selection is based upon your needs and preferences. Search results will first present, in alphabetical order, physicians employed or contracted with Brown University Health or its affiliates, followed by an alphabetical listing of physicians who are in Brown University Health’s network of affiliated providers. At the end of that initial list, you can access an alphabetical listing of community physicians with privileges at Brown University Health hospitals. All physicians in Find a Doctor have the opportunity to have a picture or video posted on the site. Neither the order of physicians, nor the presence or absence of a photo or video, in Find a Doctor is intended to reflect any preference, priority, or recommendation by Brown University Health. Find a Doctor search results are also not based on the volume or value of referrals to Brown University Health or its affiliates from any listed physician. Users are free to select their physician of choice from among all Brown University Health-affiliated medical staff physicians.

Christopher Houck, PhD
Christopher D. Houck, PhD, has been a staff psychologist at Rhode Island Hospital and assistant professor of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at Brown University since 2005. He is also a former research associate at Rhode Island Hospital.
Houck received a BA in psychology with highest honors from the University of Michigan. He completed graduate studies in Clinical Psychology at the University of Florida with a concentration in Clinical Child/Pediatric Psychology.
Additional training included an APA accredited internship in Clinical Psychology at Children’s Hospital of Orange County in California and a postdoctoral Fellowship in Pediatric Psychology at Brown University’s Clinical Psychology Training Consortium.
Research Interests
Houck has been principal or co-investigator of many research studies, including several focusing on affect management for early adolescents and the development and evaluation of risk prevention interventions for at-risk early adolescents.
