Pulmonologist

Douglas Martin, MD, is an interventional pulmonologist and attending physician in Rhode Island Hospital’s Division of Pulmonary, Sleep, and Critical Care Medicine. He specializes in pulmonary diseases and critical care medicine through the hospital’s Interventional Pulmonary Program and is an assistant professor of clinical medicine at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.

Dr. Martin earned his medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry and completed his internal medicine residency, as well as fellowship training in pulmonary and critical care medicine, at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University/Rhode Island Hospital.

His clinical interests include lung cancer, bronchoscopy, and advanced interventional pulmonary procedures.

He is board certified in internal medicine, pulmonary diseases, and critical care medicine.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Martin has presented at national conferences, contributed to peer-reviewed research published in academic journals, and authored chapters in medical textbooks. He is a member of the American Thoracic Society, the American College of Chest Physicians, and the Rhode Island Thoracic Society.
