Selection is based upon your needs and preferences. Search results will first present, in alphabetical order, physicians employed or contracted with Brown University Health or its affiliates, followed by an alphabetical listing of physicians who are in Brown University Health’s network of affiliated providers. At the end of that initial list, you can access an alphabetical listing of community physicians with privileges at Brown University Health hospitals. All physicians in Find a Doctor have the opportunity to have a picture or video posted on the site. Neither the order of physicians, nor the presence or absence of a photo or video, in Find a Doctor is intended to reflect any preference, priority, or recommendation by Brown University Health. Find a Doctor search results are also not based on the volume or value of referrals to Brown University Health or its affiliates from any listed physician. Users are free to select their physician of choice from among all Brown University Health-affiliated medical staff physicians.

Emery W. Marcus, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, PMHNP-BC, CARN-AP, is nurse practitioner with dual certification in family and psychiatric mental health, specializing in psychiatry and addiction medicine.
She sees patients at the Addiction Care Today clinic (ACT) and at the Recovery Center, both located in Providence.
Marcus earned a master’s degree in nursing from Simmons University, Boston and multiple advanced board certifications training.
With more than a decade of clinical experience, Marcus has worked in both nonprofit healthcare and private practice sectors. She has provided primary care for high-risk populations, integrated psychiatric service and treatment for patients with substance use disorders in both urgent care and outpatient settings. She served as a medical research clinician on NIH-funded studies, with expertise spanning family medicine, psychiatric care, addiction treatment, and clinical research.
Marcus maintains active memberships with professional organizations including the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, American Psychiatric Nurses Association, and the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
