Firas Yatim, MD, a psychiatrist at Brown University Health, provides outpatient psychiatric care in East Providence and serves patients in the partial hospital program. He also is a clinical instructor in psychiatry and human behavior at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.

Dr. Yatim earned his medical degree from the American University of Beirut and completed his psychiatry residency at Corewell Health in Michigan, where he received the Austen Riggs Award for Excellence in Psychotherapy and the Resident Recognition Award from the American Psychiatric Association. His clinical practice is driven by interests in psychotherapy, trauma, LGBTQ care, personality disorders, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and the neurobiological underpinnings of psychiatric treatments. He has contributed to academic literature, authoring a book chapter on the neurobiology of psychotherapy.

Passionate about education, Dr. Yatim actively engages in medical teaching. He is fluent in both Arabic and English, enabling him to provide inclusive and culturally responsive care to a diverse patient community.
