“Find a Doctor” is operated by Brown University Health and includes all physicians who are on the medical staffs of Brown University Health-affiliated hospitals, without any charge to them. Selection is based upon your needs and preferences. Search results will first present, in alphabetical order, physicians employed or contracted with Brown University Health or its affiliates, followed by an alphabetical listing of physicians who are in Brown University Health’s network of affiliated providers. At the end of that initial list, you can access an alphabetical listing of community physicians with privileges at Brown University Health hospitals. All physicians in Find a Doctor have the opportunity to have a picture or video posted on the site. Neither the order of physicians, nor the presence or absence of a photo or video, in Find a Doctor is intended to reflect any preference, priority, or recommendation by Brown University Health. Find a Doctor search results are also not based on the volume or value of referrals to Brown University Health or its affiliates from any listed physician. Users are free to select their physician of choice from among all Brown University Health-affiliated medical staff physicians.

Jason Rafferty, MD, MEd, MPH, is a board-certified child psychiatrist and pediatrician in the Vista program at Bradley Hospital and medical director of the Gender and Sexuality Program at Hasbro Children’s. He is also a clinical assistant professor of psychiatry and human behavior and pediatrics at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University
Dr. Rafferty graduated from Harvard Medical School and obtained post-graduate training through the Triple Board Residency at Brown University. The Triple Board is a combined program in pediatrics, general psychiatry, and child/adolescent psychiatry. He has additional degrees from Harvard University in public health, concentrating on maternal and child health, and education focused on adolescent development and psychology. He is involved with the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) as the chair of the Section on LGBTQ+ Health and Wellness, frequently reviewing policy and publications related to LGBTQ+ adolescent health. Dr. Rafferty was the lead author of the AAP’s 2018 policy statement, “Ensuring Comprehensive Care and Support for Transgender and Gender-Diverse Children and Adolescents.”
He is a board member for the Partnership for Male Youth and was a 2017 Laughlin Fellow of the American College of Psychiatrists, which recognizes graduating trainees deemed likely to make a significant contribution to the field of psychiatry.
