Dr. Herbert completed a general surgery internship from Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals in Stratford, NJ, a general surgery residency at Hackensack Meridian Health Palisades Medical Center in North Bergen, NJ, and an advanced gastrointestinal, minimally invasive surgery, and bariatric surgery fellowship at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, MD.

Dr. Herbert is a board member of the Rhode Island Society of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons, a fellow of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, and a member of the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES).
