Joseph Marcotte, MD, is a board certified, fellowship-trained minimally invasive surgeon with expertise in bariatric and general surgery procedures at Saint Anne’s Hospital, named a comprehensive center by the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP) certified by the American College of Surgeons and American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. He specializes in robotic surgery, minimally invasive hernia repairs, metabolic and weight loss surgery, and operations to treat acid reflux.

Dr. Marcotte has collaborated on peer reviewed research published in academic journals. His research focuses on surgical innovation, patient-centered outcomes, and wound healing. He has conducted his work at academic medical centers and the National Institutes of Health.

He earned a medical degree from the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences in Washington, DC. Dr. Marcotte completed a general surgery residency at Cooper University Hospital in New Jersey and an advanced gastrointestinal, minimally invasive and bariatric surgery at South Miami Hospital.

He is a member of the American College of Surgeons, the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, and the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons.
