At the end of that initial list, you can access an alphabetical listing of community physicians with privileges at Brown University Health hospitals. All physicians in Find a Doctor have the opportunity to have a picture or video posted on the site. Neither the order of physicians, nor the presence or absence of a photo or video, in Find a Doctor is intended to reflect any preference, priority, or recommendation by Brown University Health. Julia Ann Katarincic, MD, specializes in hand and microvascular surgery for children and adults, with particular expertise in pediatric upper extremity problems. Her chief areas of clinical practice interest include congenital hand anomalies, microsurgery, brachial plexus injuries, peripheral nerve injuries, and fractures. Dr. Katarincic is one of the only fellowship-trained pediatric hand surgeons in New England. She is also a professor of orthopedic surgery at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.
Dr. Katarincic is director of outreach and international education for the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. She is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) as well as American Osteopathic Association (AOA). Her research interests include peripheral nerve regeneration and plate biomechanics.
Dr. Katarincic received her medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She completed her residency at Rhode Island Hospital/Alpert Medical School in Providence, Rhode Island, and fellowship training in hand and microvascular surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, where she remained a staff member for six years.
