Julie Roth, MD, FAAN, director of women’s neurology at Rhode Island Hospital, specializes in women’s and obstetrical neurology, and in epilepsy. Her research has focused on migraine, medical education, and neurological issues pertaining to pregnancy.

Dr. Roth completed medical school at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, followed by a neurology residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center/Harvard Medical School, where she also served as chief resident. She then completed specialized fellowship training in clinical neurophysiology with a focus on epilepsy. 

She holds faculty appointments at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University and has received numerous teaching awards recognizing her excellence in medical education. She is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology, a distinction awarded to physicians who demonstrate exceptional leadership, scholarship, and service to the field.

Dr. Roth is an active contributor to the field of neurology through her published research, expert lectures, and regular participation in national and regional clinical conferences. She is frequently invited to share her expertise on epilepsy and neurophysiology at professional meetings and educational events, helping advance knowledge and improve care for patients with neurological conditions.
