Mark Messineo, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon at Brown Health Medical Group Orthopedics.

He earned his undergraduate degree at Princeton University and a medical degree from Harvard Medical School. Dr. Messineo served as chief resident at New England Medical Center, now called Tufts Medical Center, and the New England Baptist Hospital. He completed an orthopedic surgery residency at the Tufts Combined Orthopaedic Center and a general surgery internship at the New England Medical Center. While at New England Baptist Hospital he received specialized training in hip and knee total joint replacement. Dr. Messineo has been trained and certified in the technological advancement of robotic-assisted Makoplasty total knee replacement and total hip replacement since 2012. Dr. Messineo’s additional clinical interests include arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder and knee and sports medicine surgery.

Dr. Messineo has collaborated on peer reviewed research published in academic journals. He has given orthopedic lectures in the medical community and to the public regarding total joint replacements. He is a member of the American Medical Association and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.
