Mustapha Kemal, MD

Mustapha Kemal, MD is the medical director of the Vanderbilt Rehabilitation Center at Newport Hospital, where he has worked since 2015. In addition, he is a clinical assistant professor of neurology at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.

Dr. Kemal received his medical degree from King Edward Medical University in Lahore, Pakistan. He completed his residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he served as chief resident. He is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and is board-certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation.

He specializes in a broad range of physiatry services, including spasticity management using medications, Botox injections and intrathecal baclofen pump management, orthotics and prosthetics, stroke rehabilitation, and the rehabilitation of patients with spinal cord injury and brain injury.
