Find a Doctor Disclaimer
“Find a Doctor” is operated by Brown University Health and includes all physicians who are on the medical staffs of Brown University Health-affiliated hospitals, without any charge to them. Selection is based upon your needs and preferences. Search results will first present, in alphabetical order, physicians employed or contracted with Brown University Health or its affiliates, followed by an alphabetical listing of physicians who are in Brown University Health’s network of affiliated providers. At the end of that initial list, you can access an alphabetical listing of community physicians with privileges at Brown University Health hospitals. All physicians in Find a Doctor have the opportunity to have a picture or video posted on the site. Neither the order of physicians, nor the presence or absence of a photo or video, in Find a Doctor is intended to reflect any preference, priority, or recommendation by Brown University Health. Find a Doctor search results are also not based on the volume or value of referrals to Brown University Health or its affiliates from any listed physician. Users are free to select their physician of choice from among all Brown University Health-affiliated medical staff physicians.

Robert Miranda, Jr., PhD, MEd, ABPP, is the founder and director of Vista at Bradley Hospital and a board-certified clinical psychologist. He has committed his career as a clinician scientist to advancing understanding of how substance-related problems develop during adolescence and to improving innovative therapeutics to treat youth during the early stages of addiction.
He directs a federally-funded research program on the treatment of young people with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders, with a particular focus on testing new pharmacological and digital interventions. He has served as principal investigator, co-investigator, or mentor on nearly 50 federally-funded research projects, and he has developed several novel assessment and intervention approaches for adolescents with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders.
In addition to his scholarly work, Dr. Miranda founded and directs the intensive adolescent substance use and mental health treatment program (Vista) at Bradley Hospital. The program is the region's premier teenage substance use and mental health treatment service and training clinic. It received recognition as a model treatment program for youth with co-occurring disorders by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. Dr. Miranda is also a professor of psychiatry and human behavior at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, professor of behavioral and social sciences at Brown University School of Public Health, and postdoctoral training director at Brown University Center for Alcohol and Addiction Studies.
As both a clinician and a scientist, he understands intimately the day-to-day clinical management of substance use disorders in youth, along with the shortcomings of the best available therapies and areas that warrant more research attention.
