Roderick C. Spears, MD

Neurologist

Roderick C. Spears, MD, FAHS, FAAN, is a board-certified neurologist and the inaugural endowed chair of the Migraine Division, and chief of the Headache Division at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.

Before joining Brown Health Medical Group, Dr. Spears worked as the regional medical director of neurology and a headache specialist at the University of Pennsylvania.

He has collaborated on peer-reviewed research published in academic journals.

Dr. Spears received a medical degree from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Spears completed an internal medicine internship at Akron General Medical Center and in neurology residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center in New York City, where he served as the chief resident, and a headache and facial pain fellowship at the Headache Institute at St. Luke’s–Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York City.

Dr. Spears is a fellow of the American Headache Society and the American Academy of Neurology.
