Selection is based upon your needs and preferences. Search results will first present, in alphabetical order, physicians employed or contracted with Brown University Health or its affiliates, followed by an alphabetical listing of physicians who are in Brown University Health’s network of affiliated providers. At the end of that initial list, you can access an alphabetical listing of community physicians with privileges at Brown University Health hospitals. All physicians in Find a Doctor have the opportunity to have a picture or video posted on the site. Neither the order of physicians, nor the presence or absence of a photo or video, in Find a Doctor is intended to reflect any preference, priority, or recommendation by Brown University Health. Find a Doctor search results are also not based on the volume or value of referrals to Brown University Health or its affiliates from any listed physician. Users are free to select their physician of choice from among all Brown University Health-affiliated medical staff physicians.

Samantha Turmenne, APRN, is an advanced practice registered nurse with Brown University Health Gastroenterology and the Center for Inflammatory Bowel and Liver Disease. She provides comprehensive care to patients with acute and chronic gastrointestinal conditions, with clinical interests in inflammatory bowel disease, liver disease, as well as general gastroenterology conditions.
Turmenne is experienced in evaluation, diagnosis, and long-term disease management. She is committed to patient education and collaborative care to support improved outcomes and quality of life.
Prior to joining Brown University Health, she worked at the Brown Medicine Division of Gastroenterology. Her clinical background also includes experience in primary care and medical weight management. Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, she worked as a registered nurse at Rhode Island Hospital and Tampa General Hospital.
Turmenne earned her bachelor's degree in nursing from the University of Tampa and her master’s degree in nursing with a family nurse practitioner concentration from the University of Rhode Island.
She is board-certified as a family nurse practitioner through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. She is a member of both the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the American College of Gastroenterology.
