Sandra Rao, MD, is a board-certified radiologist with the Anne C. Pappas Center for Breast Imaging, and an assistant professor of radiology at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.

Dr. Rao earned a medical degree from the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara in Mexico and a fifth pathway certificate of completion from New York Medical College in Valhalla. Dr. Rao completed an internal medicine internship at Roger Williams Medical Center, a diagnostic radiology residency at St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport, Connecticut, where she served as chief resident, and a breast imaging fellowship from the University of Virginia.

Dr. Rao has presented at conferences and collaborated on peer-reviewed research published in academic journals. She is a member of the American Association of Women Radiologists, the American Board of Radiologists, the Society of Breast Imaging, the American College of Radiology, the American Roentgen Ray Society, the European Society of Radiology, and the Radiological Society of North American.
