Sheila A. Connery, MD

Sheila Connery, MD, is an obstetrician-gynecologist at Newport Women’s Health.

Dr. Connery obtained a bachelor of science degree in biology from College Misericordia in Pennsylvania, followed by a doctorate in medicine from Pennsylvania State University. She completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. She is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. 

For nearly eight years she was a partner in an obstetrics and gynecology practice located in Cleveland before moving to Rhode Island. While practicing her specialty, she was associated with South County Hospital in Wakefield for the next 14 years. In 2007, she and her family moved to Tampa, FL where she was employed at the University of South Florida. There she obtained the rank of associate professor. In 2025, she and her husband moved back to Rhode Island. 

Dr. Connery has been named Castle Connolly Top Doctors multiple times and received the Faculty Award from the Society of Academic Specialists in General Obstetrics and Gynecology. She has also been named Top Performer with Press Ganey through the University of South Florida several times. She participated in the education and training of many residents and medical students. 

Dr. Connery is the primary author of multiple published articles covering various aspects of her specialty. She looks forward to managing women seeking care as a practicing physician through Brown Health, Newport Women’s Health.
