Vinit Joseph Gilvaz, MD

Vinit Gilvaz, MD, is a rheumatologist affiliated with Brown University Health Rheumatology. His areas of interest encompass inflammatory arthritis, autoimmune skin diseases, and adult-onset autoinflammatory syndromes.

He obtained his medical degree from Amrita School of Medicine in Kerala, India. Later, he completed a residency in internal medicine at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester, Massachusetts, where he also served as chief medical resident. Dr. Gilvaz completed his fellowship in rheumatology at Rhode Island Hospital through The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.

He is actively involved with the American College of Rheumatology, where he has served on various subcommittees. Additionally, he is a member of several other professional organizations, including the American College of Physicians, the Massachusetts Medical Society, and the Indian Medical Association.

Dr. Gilvaz is passionate about medical education and has received several awards for the same. He has taught students from the University of Massachusetts Medical School, the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (MCPHS), and The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. He firmly believes that the best approach to patient care is to educate patients about their illness and empower them to make the best treatment decisions.
