Curtiss James always had a passion for “foodtography,” but after the 51-year-old had sleeve gastrectomy, he turned his hobby into a way to promote healthy eating habits. Curtiss takes photos of the healthy meals he cooks and shares the recipes with others in the Center for Bariatric Surgery’s support group.

Jenna Bergeron
18-year-old Jenna Bergeron, of East Providence, had bariatric surgery at the age of 16. Because she was a teenager, Jenna had to meet strict guidelines, undergo psychological counseling, and complete nutritional counseling with a bariatric nutritionist. Since her surgery, Jenna has lost more than 100 pounds.
