Hasbro Children's
Camp Dotty
Since 1996, Camp Dotty has been entertaining four- to seven-year-old cancer patients and their siblings with its annual summer program, held on the grounds of Hasbro Children's. The children participate in various activities including learning gymnastics, meeting exotic animals, creating arts and crafts, and dancing to live music.
More Information
Camp Dotty is run by the Child Life staff and experienced volunteer counselors with supervision by medical staff.
For more information please call child life services at 401-444-8279 or download our brochure (PDF).
The week-long camp was established for children who are too ill to attend regular day camps and too young to attend overnight camps for children with cancer. Activities are monitored by hospital staff.
Camp Dotty is made possible through funding provided by The Tomorrow Fund, a non-profit organization giving direct financial and emotional support to local children with cancer and their families. The Tomorrow Fund is based at Hasbro Children's, the pediatric division of Rhode Island Hospital.
Many of the camp counselors are Tomorrow Fund graduates: teens and young adults who have overcome their own battles with cancer with the help of Hasbro Children's and The Tomorrow Fund.
