Sickle Cell Patient-Centered Care

The Brown University Health Comprehensive Sickle Cell Center staff is aware of the suboptimal care received by individuals with sickle cell disease and is committed to improving this for the more than 300 patients treated within our program. Our team uses a patient-centered approach that values the voice of the patient to recognize deficiencies and improve care for the current and future generations of individuals living with sickle cell disease.

The program promotes a zero-tolerance policy for inappropriate care of our sickle cell patients across the hospital system. We are committed to advocating for our patients within and across our healthcare system, striving to improve the quality of life for patients both within and beyond the hospital.

Sickle cell disease is an important priority across the Brown University Health system, and we are committed to continuing to improve the care for sickle cell patients seen within our center.
