Center for Inflammatory Bowel and Liver Disease

The Center for Inflammatory Bowel and Liver Disease provides specialized, expert care for patients with inflammatory bowel and liver conditions. Our center is run by physicians with specialized training in both gastroenterology and hepatology. 

We care for adults, pregnant patients, and pediatric patients who are transitioning to adult care. Our multidisciplinary team includes gastroenterologists, hepatologists, nutritionists, social workers, and other specialists who work together to support each patient’s medical needs. 

Our goal is to provide a comprehensive program where patients can receive ongoing care and coordination across specialties from our experienced team.

The center and its expert staff offer:

• Comprehensive treatment of Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis
• Medical home model that connects patients with Brown University Health specialists in rheumatology, dermatology, endocrinology, colorectal surgery, and primary care
• Medical therapy
• Diagnostic testing
• Endoscopic evaluation
• Collaborative care of complex cases with leading inflammatory bowel disease and hepatology centers, surgery for inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and transitioning care for pediatric IBD patients to adult care
• Care for college and university students who need an inflammatory bowel disease or hepatology provider while away from home
• Telehealth physician consultation services
• Comprehensive care of general and advanced liver disease, including for patients with pre- and post-transplant needs
