Daniel Dickstein, MD is the director of Bradley Hospital's Pediatric Mood, Imaging and NeuroDevelopment Program. Board certified in pediatrics, psychiatry, and child and adolescent psychiatry, he is also an associate professor of psychiatry and human behavior, pediatrics and diagnostic imaging at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.
Dr. Dickstein earned his undergraduate and medical degrees from Brown University and is a graduate of the school's triple board program, a combined residency in pediatrics, general psychiatry, and child and adolescent psychiatry that leads to board eligibility in all three specialties after five years of training. He was previously an assistant clinical investigator with the Pediatric and Developmental Neuropsychiatry branch at the National Institute of Mental Health.
The overarching goal of Dr. Dickstein’s research is to identify biological and behavioral markers, such as scans and tests, that improve our ability to diagnose and treat psychiatric disorders — particularly those starting in childhood. Dr. Dickstein’s research includes work on bipolar disorder, ADHD, anxiety disorders, suicide, non-suicidal self-injury, and autism.
In addition to research, Dr. Dickstein sees outpatients at Bradley Hospital and teaches in several departments of The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.
