Primary care in Rhode Island is facing a critical moment, and Brown Health Medical Group Primary Care is no exception.
Over the past three years, we have successfully transitioned more than 40,000 patients to new primary care providers due to physician retirements and relocations, surpassing our ability to recruit replacements and expand capacity further. The challenges in recruiting and retaining primary care providers continue to impact many of our patients.
As a result, we are pausing the addition of new patients to our adult and family medicine waitlist as we focus on supporting our impacted patients and the many prospective patients already on our waitlist.
