Postpartum Care
Concerns Following Delivery
Some women experience unexpected symptoms postpartum. You may have difficulty with breastfeeding, notice concerning changes in your mood or behavior, or want to understand how pregnancy complications may affect your future health. We can help.
Women who develop pregnancy complications such as preeclampsia (high blood pressure), low birth weight or preterm delivery have at least twice the risk of developing cardiovascular disease later in life. Gestational diabetes significantly increases the risk of developing type 2 diabetes. The good news is that we can prevent these chronic diseases! Our postpartum program offers urgent visits as well as follow-up visits for those who developed a medical condition in pregnancy. We work with you and your primary care provider to develop a comprehensive plan to reduce your risk of future health problems.
