Meet Our Adult and Pediatric Otolaryngology (ENT) Team
What Is the Difference Between a Pediatric ENT and a General ENT?
A general ENT (ear, nose, and throat) physician treats patients of all ages and manages a wide range of ENT conditions. A pediatric ENT, also called a pediatric otolaryngologist, has additional training focused specifically on caring for infants, children, and adolescents.
Pediatric ENT doctors understand how ENT conditions affect a child’s growth, development, speech, hearing, and breathing. They are trained to diagnose and treat conditions that are more common or more complex in children, such as recurrent ear infections, airway and breathing disorders, congenital head and neck conditions, and feeding or swallowing difficulties. Some pediatric ENT specialists also serve as pediatric airway specialists for children with complex airway needs.
