Preventive Cardiology Programs

Pediatric Heart Center staff members use a multidisciplinary approach to treat children and teens with hyperlipidemia (high level of fats in the blood, e.g., high cholesterol) and high blood pressure.

Pediatric subspecialty physicians collaborate to design a treatment program for each patient. The program is comprehensive and many hospital departments and services work together to provide care.

• Outpatient laboratory
• Nutritional services
• Cardiopulmonary laboratory
• Noninvasive cardiac testing
• Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring

Emphasis is placed on nutritional and lifestyle changes, education with supplemental literature and institution of medical therapy when necessary.
