Hasbro Children's
Welcome from Dr. Luks
Welcome to the division of surgery at Hasbro Children’s, the region’s premier pediatric facility.
We provide the very best pediatric surgical care, including minimally invasive, endoscopic and laparoscopic procedures, to unborn children, infants and children through age 18—and sometimes beyond. We ensure continuity of excellent care for our patients who are in transition from pediatric to adult care, which is especially important for our patients with chronic conditions.
All our surgeons, interventionalists and anesthesiologists are specialized or subspecialized in their respective fields and have expertise in pediatrics. We embrace a treatment approach that focuses on healing the whole child. We bring together experts throughout our system as necessary in a collaborative team approach to caring for your child.
We also offer a preoperative teaching program to familiarize you and your child with the surgical process. You will have an opportunity to meet operating room staff and become comfortable with the environment. Our goal is to make your visit a positive experience.
We provide the very best pediatric surgical care, including minimally invasive, endoscopic and laparoscopic procedures, to unborn children, infants and children through age 18—and sometimes beyond.
Hasbro Children’s is a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center and has the only pediatric emergency department in southeastern New England. It also has the state’s only pediatric critical care transport team that operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week.
Our hospital is the principal pediatric teaching hospital for The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, and our surgeons hold faculty positions in their respective departments at the school. We are one of only 37 North American centers that train future pediatric surgeons and offer pediatric fellowship training in gastroenterology, orthopedic and spine surgery, and other children’s specialties.
As your partners, your child’s medical team will keep you informed throughout the treatment process. We thank you for trusting us with your child’s care.
Sincerely,
Francois I. Luks, MD, PhD
