Hasbro Children's

When your child is hurting, rely on our expert providers for leading-edge care.

Welcome to Hasbro Children’s

The Region’s Premier Pediatric Hospital

We offer services and programs in all medical and surgical specialties, at our hospital and throughout the region through our centers and clinics. While you can be confident that we provide the most advanced pediatric medical care, you can also be assured of our commitment to always treat our patients with the utmost compassion and gentleness. We also believe that close involvement of the family is central to a child’s health and healing, and we recognize parents as essential partners in their children’s care.

Our physicians are experts at treating from the most common to the most complex childhood diseases, and each is board certified or eligible for certification in a specialty. As a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center, Hasbro Children’s is always ready for any emergency. Our hospital has the only pediatric emergency department in southeastern New England, as well as the state’s only pediatric critical care team and ambulance that operates around the clock.

Hasbro Children’s Hospital
Hasbro Children’s is a safe place to receive care, whether through a regular visit with your pediatric primary care doctor, a specialist or even in the event of an emergency.

Hasbro Children’s is the principal pediatric teaching hospital for The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, where most of our hospital-based physicians hold faculty appointments. Our physicians, nurses, residents, and trainees are engaged in a wide range of pioneering research projects that we hope will result in significant breakthroughs and promising new treatments for the diseases that afflict children.

Our many research activities include participation in various registries in hemophilia, oncology, diabetes, AIDS and HIV, inflammatory bowel diseases, treatment-resistant nephrotic syndrome, and rheumatic diseases. We are also conducting studies on preventing obesity in children, investigating liver development and growth hormone regulation, better understanding child abuse prevention, evaluating premature lung and brain injury, researching what triggers premature birth, and understanding cystic fibrosis and disorders of airway mucous clearance, among others.

We have a center for international studies focused on parasitic diseases such as malaria, as well as tuberculosis in adolescents. We have several large multicenter grants, funded by the National Institutes of Health, to study environmental exposures on the health and development of children (ECHO), and the role of adversity and social determinants on asthma severity. We also participate in large networks to improve interdisciplinary training in developmental and behavioral pediatrics, as well as provide support for clinical and translational researchers across the campus (Advance-CTR).

With our leading-edge medicine informed by ongoing, innovative research, you can expect the very best care at our hospital. As your partner, we thank you for trusting us to care for your child.

Sincerely,

Phyllis Dennery, MD
