Surgical Techniques

The high level of expertise of our board-certified surgical oncologists allows for the use of specialized techniques that are appropriate for cancer patients, including:

  • Advanced laparoscopic staging and biopsies
  • Minimally invasive robotic surgery 
  • Brachytherapy implants for focused radiation therapy treatments
  • Hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemoperfusion (HIPEC), an increasingly popular cancer treatment in which chemo is delivered directly to cancer cells that have advanced into the abdominal peritoneal cavity (peritoneal carcinomatosis)
  • Microwave ablation of tumors
  • Sentinel node mapping for breast cancer and melanoma

  • Breast Cancer—Diagnosis and treatment of ductal carcinoma, lobular carcinoma and HR Positive, HER Positive, triple negative breast cancer, and rare breast cancers.  
  • Colorectal Cancer—Diagnosis and treatment of colorectal malignancies including colon, rectum, and small bowel cancers. 
  • Genitourinary Cancer—Diagnosis and treatment of urologic malignancies including bladder, kidney, penile, prostate, testicular, and ureter cancer.
