Your Child’s Stay: Health, Safety, and Wellness

Bradley Hospital is committed to keeping children safe, healthy, and supported throughout their stay. Good physical health helps children get the most out of their mental health treatment. Families are encouraged to review the following health and safety information before a visit or admission.

Staying Healthy in the Hospital

Hand Hygiene

Frequent handwashing is the best way to prevent illness. Staff, patients, and visitors are asked to clean their hands regularly using soap and water or hand sanitizer, especially before and after meals, after using the bathroom, after coughing or sneezing, and when entering or leaving patient areas.

Cough/Sneeze Etiquette

To prevent germs from spreading, patients and visitors should use a tissue or their elbow, not hands, to cover coughs and sneezes. Hands should be cleaned immediately afterward.

Limiting Sick Visitors

Loved ones are welcome, but only if they’re feeling well. Anyone who is coughing, sneezing, or has a fever will be asked to reschedule their visit. Masks are available for anyone with mild symptoms.

Flu Vaccination

Flu shots are strongly recommended and provided to all patients and staff. Vaccination helps protect everyone on campus from seasonal illness.

Rapid Response Team

If a parent or caregiver has an urgent concern about a child’s physical condition, they may notify the nurse or call the Rapid Response Team directly at extension 88 (from inside the hospital) or 401-432-1000 (from outside). Every concern is taken seriously.
