Brown Health Medical Group Dermatopathology
Brown Health Medical Group Dermatology provides comprehensive, expert dermatopathology testing services to support providers throughout Rhode Island and eastern Connecticut in diagnosing skin diseases and conditions.
Since 1987, our dermatopathologists have brought expertise that spans the subspecialties of dermatology and surgical pathology. While many skin disorders can be identified based on appearance, anatomic distribution, and clinical behavior, some diagnoses require further evaluation. In these cases, a skin biopsy may be necessary to reveal diagnostic findings at the cellular or molecular level.
Our team uses a broad range of advanced testing modalities, including immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry, electron microscopy, flow cytometry, and molecular pathologic analysis, to diagnose diseases of the skin, hair, and nails at a microscopic level.
Our dermatologists are board-certified in dermatology and dermatopathology and work closely with referring physicians to support strong clinicopathologic correlation. Our laboratory is certified by the clinical laboratory improvement amendments (CLIA), and we have served patients throughout the region for more than three decades.
