Adult Partial Hospital Program

The Adult Partial Hospital Program at Brown University Health provides intensive, short-term mental health treatment for adults facing mental health challenges or navigating major life events, such as grief, trauma, relationship or work transitions, and intense stress. Offered through a virtual platform, the program allows patients across the Southeastern New England region to receive high-quality care from the comfort and privacy of home.

What Is a Partial Hospital Program?

A partial hospital program (PHP) offers a highly structured form of outpatient treatment for individuals who need more support than traditional therapy/psychiatry outpatient visits but do not require inpatient hospitalization. It provides comprehensive care through therapy, medication management, and skill-building groups, within a flexible day program. Participants receive the treatment and support they need during the day and return to their daily routine in the evenings, allowing them to focus on healing while staying connected to their daily lives.

The program is 100% virtual and serves individuals in Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
