Young Adult Track at the Adult Partial Hospital Program

The young adult (YA) track is for individuals ages 18 to 29 who are struggling with mental health concerns in combination with the transition to adulthood.

This track is 100% virtual, allowing access to short-term intensive mental health care across Rhode Island and Massachusetts.

What Differentiates This Track?

The YA track is integrated with the General Track, meaning it has the same group times, daily therapy/medication management, treatment modalities, and skills group opportunities. However, individuals on this track will also connect with, gain support and learn from young adult peers within a dedicated interpersonal group space. Additionally, our team works to provide age-appropriate support and tailors both individual therapy and medication management to meet each person’s unique needs. This comprehensive treatment approach is designed to support young adults in regaining emotional well-being, daily functioning, and greater independence.

Stepping into adulthood can feel overwhelming and isolating. Dealing with mental health challenges on top of that can make it even harder to navigate, especially on your own. In this track we hope to provide a compassionate and inclusive space where you don’t have to walk alone.

Individuals in this track are often working towards:

  • Fostering connections with supportive peers and professionals
  • Improving ability to respond effectively to emotion and crisis situations
  • Improving self-awareness and insight into thoughts, feelings, and behaviors
  • Building effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Identifying personal values and valued life directions
  • Taking steps toward personal goals related to education, work, or relationships
  • Recognizing and embracing strengths, challenges, and self-identity
Who May Benefit from This Track?

The track is inclusive for those with a range of mental health diagnoses.
