Ovarian Cysts

A fetal abdominal cyst is a fluid-filled structure located on the unborn baby’s abdomen. The most common type is the ovarian cyst. Diagnosed and monitored with serial ultrasound, the cyst often dissipates on its own before birth or may be treated after birth. In rare cases, we may recommend draining the cyst through fetal image-guided surgery.
