Guide to Finding a Living Kidney Donor
Finding a living donor will increase your chances of receiving a transplant. It's important that others know you need a kidney, as research shows 25 percent of people will donate a kidney if they know someone that needs one. So, it's in your best interest to create your story, share it widely, and stay positive.
Living Kidney Donation
Living kidney donation is the best treatment option for you. It has better outcomes over 12 to 14 years. There is less wait time, the surgery will be scheduled, and you will receive an excellent kidney from a healthy donor. There will also be a lower dosage of immunosuppressants needed, as well as a lower risk of rejection.
